Sleep Does Your Body Good

In our hustle and bustle world not getting enough sleep is like carrying a badge of honor. Most of what the body does to recover from the daily beating we put it through happens while we sleep. We all know that not getting enough sleep makes us irritable but studies are showing that it also increases the risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, depression, and inflammation markers inside the body. Here are a couple of ways to get better nights rest:

1. Have a consistent bed time.

2. Stop looking at back lit gadget like cell phones and tablets 30-60 min before bedtime.

3. Drink your last caffeinated beverage 4-6 hours before bed.

4. Exercise 3-5 days a week.

5. Eat a light instead of big meal at dinner time.
