Cheaters Never Prosper………Or Do They

Eating “healthy” all the time can be boring (depending on who you are). We live in a world that has a lot of great tasting food that may or may not be healthy and to totally deprive ourselves of it would be crazy. The problem lies in that fact that most people eat too much of the unhealthy foods and not enough of the healthy foods. My belief is that a cheat meal is important to maintain a balanced diet and the data backs me up. Heck, even the top of the food pyramid has sweets in it.

According to a cheat meal not only helps you stay on a healthy eating plan, it can also help boost metabolism. This does not mean that you can go crazy at Popeye’s but you can live it up sometimes, 

I like cheat meals because it feels like a reward after a long week of doing the right thing and in some strange way it keeps me focused. Follow these tips so that you do not lose any progress or turn a cheat meal into a cheat day/weekend/week:

1. Plan what you want your cheat meal to be days in advance.

2. Choose Saturday or Sunday as the day you will cheat so it will feel like a reward and by Monday you’re back on the wagon

3. Do not go overboard; instead of eating a pizza, Popeye’s chicken, and Krispy Kreme, pick one of them. 

4. Cheat as early in the day as possible. This allows your body to burn the calories throughout the day instead of you going to bed with a full stomach

5. Workout the day of your cheat meal to burn the calories more quickly.

Eating a few foods from the no-no list is not going to keep you from your fitness goals. As long as you follow a sensible plan a cheat meal can actually help you get to where you want to be. Keep your cheat meals to meals not days or weeks and remember that moderation is the key.

    and clear your thoughts before writing. I’ve had a difficult
    time clearing my mind in getting my thoughts out there.
    I truly do take pleasure in writing however
    it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying to figure out

    • Thank you so much for reading. I try to listen to some calming music and get away from everyone. Sometimes I’ll even start a post in the middle and work from there.
